Introduction (where are the rings?)
We’re here today to witness the union of [PARTNER A] and [PARTNER B] in marriage.
Today, you begin a new life together, founded in love, laughter, honesty, respect, and friendship. The promises you make to each other today should not be taken lightly. A marriage is more than a ceremony – it is a lasting and lifelong commitment.
Gen 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
Gen 2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
The future promises many happy days ahead, filled with unique opportunities, adventures, and challenges. It is through trust, love, and the unfailing support of each other that you will meet life’s ups and downs.
The Promise
Do you, [PARTNER A], take [PARTNER B] to be your spouse and to live together as partners, to treat her with love and respect, and to build a marriage that grows stronger and more loving as time passes?

The Vows/Rings
The wedding ring represents the promises and potential of marriage. It has no beginning and no end, and is a timeless symbol of the love and commitment you have pledged. As you wear your ring, let it remind you of the love you feel here today.
[PARTNER A], please place the ring on [PARTNER B]’s finger, and repeat after me:
I give you this ring
As a symbol of my love and devotion,
I promise to support you through times of trouble,
rejoice with you in times of happiness
and to have faith in our journey.
I promise to give you all the love I can give
my whole life long.
And [PARTNER B], please place the ring on [PARTNER A]’s finger.
The Charge
1. Thou shalt keep the lines of communication open. Speak the truth in love, with compassion and mercy. Learn to know each other by communicating with each other. Intentionally be best friends.
2. Thou shalt compromise. Marriage is more than a relationship, it is a partnership. Two hearts making family decisions that will be mutually beneficial.
3. Thou shalt be thankful. Never be too busy to be polite. Be considerate. Say ‘thank you’
4. Thou shalt not be disrespectful Php 2:3 … in humility consider others as more important than yourselves God gave each of you to the other to support and to affirm each other. Respect each other as God’s highest creation
The Blessing
Officiant: True marriage is more than just a ceremony or a piece of paper – it is a lasting bond that joins two lives and two hearts. Marriage is love, companionship, trust, and respect. May you always find strength in each other, laugh with each other, and find safety and comfort in each other’s words and company. May you celebrate many joyful seasons together, support each other when days are difficult, and continue to learn and grow closer together with each passing year.
